Dozens of seniors will model the latest prom fashions and proceeds raised from the event will benefit the 54th annual post-prom party.
New Canaan High School’s senior class presents “Fashion’s Night Out,” the 11th annual post-prom party fashion show fund-raiser, Saturday, March 2, at 7 in the school’s auditorium. All students, parents and members of the community are invited.
Dozens of seniors will model the latest prom fashions and proceeds raised from the event will benefit the 54th annual post-prom party which is held at Waveny House following the prom; this year’s prom is Friday, May 17.
The post-prom party was created for the purpose of keeping the kids safe, while providing a celebration after the prom. Camillo’s Tuxedo of Norwalk and A Step Ahead of Stamford have outfitted the seniors in “glamorous” formal wear for the upcoming prom season.
The show features casual looks from New Canaan vendors, including Caren Forbes, Togs, True Blue, Athletic Shoe Factory, Suburban Couture, Jack Wills, Island Outfitters, and Stella & Dot. Benefit and Cherry Street Salon are providing the makeup and hair styling.
The evening will also include musical performances by the stars of the upcoming high school production of “Beauty and the Beast.” Door prize tickets are available for purchase. Prizes include two Jets tickets, a Benefit party for eight and many other items.
In an effort to support local high schools, the senior class will also be collecting gently-used prom dresses that will be donated to the Christian Community Action’s “Prom Dress Extravaganza,” where anyone in need can “shop” the racks. Donations will be accepted in the guidance office at the high school.
